CHICASAW
Artist: Isaac Witkin
Chicasaw is a sculpture from the early 1970s, from the artist’s constructivist period, with an American Indian feel to it. It has a kind of lyricism that would anticipate Witkin’s much later free-flowing works. It remained a personal favorite of the artist, and in fact it was the one work he exhibited directly in front of his house on the blueberry farm in New Jersey.
